My Favorite Kitchen Tools

Here is the Amazon storefront link with all the things I love:
- Kitchen restock– things I use in my kitchen
- Bread baking essentials
If you have been hanging around this blog for a while, you already know that I am in my kitchen constantly. Meal prep on Sundays, family dinners during the week, and frozen treats at night—this kitchen does not get a lot of downtime, and I have learned a lot along the way about what tools actually matter and what just takes up drawer space.
So I wanted to put together a master list of everything I actually use and love. These are not random recommendations; every single thing on this list has earned its place in my kitchen through real recipes and real use. If you want to make anything on this blog, these are the tools that are going to make your life so much easier.
I have linked everything on my Amazon storefront (link here) so you can find it all in one place!
The Absolute Non Negotiables
Start Here!
These are the tools I reach for constantly and could not live without.
Kitchen Scale
If there is one thing I want you to go buy right now, it is this. Almost every bread recipe on this blog uses grams, and once you start baking by weight, you will never go back. More accurate, fewer dishes, and more consistent results every single time.
Pullman Loaf Pan
I mention this pan in so many recipes, and for good reason. Perfect uniform sandwich bread shape with straight sides and a beautiful even bake. Used for sourdough sandwich bread, cinnamon raisin bread, and so many more.
Silicone Muffin Pan
Absolutely essential for egg bites, french toast muffins, and broccoli cheddar bites. Everything slides right out perfectly every single time, and cleanup is effortless.
Immersion Blender
Used for loaded veggie sauce, homemade applesauce, chicken stock, and cream of chicken soup. Blend right in the pot, safer, easier, and so much less cleanup than transferring hot liquid to a blender.
High-Powered Blender
For egg bites, drinkable yogurt, homemade goldfish and Cheez-It dough, and anything that needs to be completely smooth. A good blender is one of the most used appliances in this kitchen.
Glass Mason Jars
I use these for storing chicken stock, ranch dressing, applesauce, ranch seasoning powder, overnight oats, chia seed pudding, and honestly everything else. Stock up on a variety of sizes.
Stand Mixer with Dough Hook
Used in bagels, sandwich bread, sourdough rolls, cinnamon rolls, and more. Makes bread baking so much less of a workout and gives you a better, more consistent knead every time.
Silicone mixer bowls
If you bake a lot at a time, these are a game changer! They go in your mixer and pull right out when done. Leaving the mixer clean!
Bread Baking Essentials
If bread is your thing, and after reading this blog it absolutely might become your thing, here is what you need:
Standard Loaf Pan
For recipes that don’t call for the Pullman pan. Always good to have a couple on hand.
9×12 Baking Pan
Sourdough dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls both live in this pan. Baking close together gives you that perfect soft pull-apart texture.
Bench Scraper and Dough Scraper
For dividing dough, portioning rolls, cleaning your counter, and shaping. Once you have one you will use it constantly.
Rolling Pin
For biscuits, cinnamon rolls, pigs in a blanket, goldfish crackers, Cheez-Its, and more. A simple one works perfectly.
Round Biscuit Cutter
For butter biscuits. You can use a drinking glass, but a real biscuit cutter gives you cleaner edges and a better rise.
Pastry Brush
For egg washing bagels, pigs in a blanket, and dinner rolls, and for brushing butter on fresh bread right out of the oven.
Banneton Proofing Basket
Great for sourdough loaves if you want that beautiful artisan shape and pattern.
The Fun Cutters
This section is brand new, and I am so excited about it because these little tools opened up a whole new world of homemade snacks in our kitchen!
Goldfish Cutter
For homemade goldfish crackers. The cutest little fish-shaped cutter and the crackers come out absolutely perfectly.
Cheez-It Cutter
For homemade Cheez-Its- this is like a pizza cutter but has fluted edges.
Teddy Bear Cutter and Other Fun Shapes
They make so many adorable cracker cutters! Teddy bears, stars, and hearts are great for kids and make snack time so much more fun.
Pizza Cutter
Not just for pizza! I use mine constantly for cutting Cheez-It squares, cutting dough into rectangles for pigs in a blanket and sausage biscuits, and cutting cinnamon roll logs into even slices.
Sharp Knife
For slicing cinnamon rolls, portioning bagel dough, and general kitchen prep. A good sharp knife makes everything easier and safer.
Pots and Pans
Large Stockpot
Essential for homemade chicken stock, loaded veggie sauce, and boiling bagels. You need something big enough to hold a lot of liquid. Go bigger than you think you need.
Large Crockpot
Homemade applesauce lies in the crockpot. So does so much more. One of the most used appliances in my kitchen.
Medium Saucepan
For creamy oatmeal, cream of chicken soup, and smaller-batch cooking. A heavy bottomed one distributes heat evenly and prevents burning.
Large Sauté Pan
For sautéing vegetables for the veggie sauce and general everyday cooking.
Small Tools That Make a Big Difference
Box Cheese Grater
Used in two ways in this kitchen: grating frozen butter into biscuit dough for the flakiest layers and shredding cheddar cheese for homemade Goldfish and Cheez-Its. Such a versatile tool.
Fine Mesh Strainer
For straining chicken stock after it has simmered. Essential for a clear, clean, beautiful broth.
Silicone Spatulas
I go through these constantly. Scraping bowls, folding batters, stirring sauces—always have a few on hand.
Wooden Spoons
For stirring oatmeal, sauces, soups, and doughs. A kitchen classic for a reason.
Cooling Racks
For letting bread, cookies, crackers, and bagels cool properly. Such a simple thing that makes a real difference.
Syringes
Yes, really! Small food-safe syringes for filling raspberries with yogurt for my yogurt raspberry bites. Grab a pack on Amazon for just a couple of dollars. (link on storefront)
Cookie Scoop
For portioning breakfast cookies and cinnamon roll filling evenly. Makes everything more uniform and consistent.
Bakeware
Sheet Pans with Rimmed Edges
For goldfish crackers, Cheez-Its, bagels, breakfast cookies, frozen yogurt clusters, frozen Jello grapes, and so much more. Always have at least two on hand.
Parchment Paper
Non-negotiable. Goes under everything. Buy it in bulk.
Mini Muffin Pan
For smaller portions of broccoli cheddar bites for younger toddlers. Also great for mini egg bites.
Storage That Actually Works
Freezer Safe Zip Bags
For storing frozen chicken bones, vegetable scraps, frozen bread, frozen bagels, homemade goldfish, and so much more. Always have a supply of multiple sizes.
Silicone Reusable Squeeze Pouches
For drinkable yogurt and homemade applesauce on the go. Reusable, easy to fill, easy to clean.
Ice Cube Trays
For freezing chicken stock in individual portions so you can grab exactly as much as you need for any recipe.
Airtight Pantry Jars
For storing homemade ranch seasoning powder, homemade brown sugar, and other dry mixes. Label them, line them up, and feel like you have your life together.
Freezer Safe Containers
For batch cooking and freezing soups, sauces, stocks, and applesauce in larger portions.
Glass Mason Jars in Multiple Sizes
Small ones for overnight oats and chia seed pudding. Medium ones for ranch and applesauce. Large ones for chicken stock and veggie sauce.
Every single thing on this list has earned its place in my kitchen. These are not things I bought and forgot about; these are the tools that show up in my recipes week after week and make cooking feel easier, more fun, and more consistent.
The newest additions to my must-have list are honestly the cracker cutters, the Goldfish cutter, and the Cheez-It cutter; they have brought so much fun into our snack game, and I cannot recommend them enough. And the pizza cutter, for all the ways I use it beyond just pizza, is one of the most versatile tools in my kitchen.
I hope this list helps you build a kitchen that works as hard as you do. And I will keep it updated as I find new things I love!
